President & Chief Operating Officer
John Schissel serves as Carr Properties’ President & Chief Operating Officer and is a member of our Board of Directors. In this role, he oversees the company’s Operations, Financial, Human Resources, Technology, and Brand and Hospitality functions. John has over 30 years of collective experience in the capital markets and as an executive for both public and private real estate company platforms. John re-joined Carr in 2015 and was previously our Chief Financial Officer from 2004 – 2009. During this time, he was part of the team that successfully took the Company public through an initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange in 2005 and also the Company’s subsequent acquisition by an affiliate of JP Morgan Asset Management in 2007. John’s prior experience includes serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Invitation Homes, the nation’s largest owner and operator of single-family rental homes. John also previously served as EVP and CFO of BRE Properties, a NYSE listed, West Coast apartment REIT; and as a banker in Wachovia Securities’ Real Estate Investment Banking Group. John received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Georgetown University.
